Baraga County Shelter Home’s work is providing services and hope for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and related forms of abuse and their children along a journey of healing, with priorities of safety and empowerment. Healing from the trauma experienced through violence is unique to each person and we are here to listen, validate, and support survivors. Our hotline offers personalized, non-judgmental support 24/7 to talk, text, or chat confidentially with anyone affected by domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and dating violence. We believe, listen, and respect survivors and provide emotional support, advocacy, information, and referrals to overcome the negative effects of violence, empowering them to take steps towards achieving safety and self-sufficiency for themselves and their families. We also do important work towards achieving our mission of eliminating domestic and sexual violence through social and systems change.
